DMZ Ragnarok Launcher

One app that installs the whole modpack, keeps it up to date, and drops you straight onto the server. No other launcher needed.

What it is

Install once, play forever

The launcher handles the whole setup for you: it downloads the full Ragnarok modpack, installs the exact Minecraft and Forge versions it needs, keeps everything patched, and starts the game already pointed at the server.

💾

One click install

Grab the whole modpack in a single step. No hunting for mod jars, no version guesswork, no manual folders to build.

🔄

Smart updates

When the pack changes, the launcher downloads only what actually changed and verifies every file, so updates are quick and never leave you with a broken install.

Brings its own Minecraft

It installs the right Minecraft and Forge by itself. You do not need the official launcher or any third party launcher running alongside it.

🖥

Windows, Linux, macOS

One download runs on all three. The same launcher, the same pack, the same server, whatever you play on.

🔥

Tune your setup

Set how much RAM the game gets and point it at a specific Java install when you need to. Sensible defaults out of the box for everyone else.

🏆

Straight to the fight

Hit play and it launches you directly onto Ragnarok. No copying an IP, no adding a server entry by hand.

Before you start

Requirements

A quick checklist so the launcher can do its job.

Java 17 or newer

The launcher runs on Java 17 or a later release. If you already run modded Minecraft you very likely have it, and you can point the launcher at a specific Java path in its settings.

👤

A real Minecraft account

You need a legitimate Minecraft Java Edition account to play. Ragnarok does not support cracked or offline accounts.

📊

Room to breathe

Plan for the disk space and memory a large modpack expects: several gigabytes free on disk, and enough RAM to give the game a healthy allocation. More is better on both.

Getting going

How to run it

Three steps from download to fighting.

1

Download the jar

Grab dmz-ragnarok-launcher-0.9.0.jar from the download link and drop it wherever you like to keep it.

2

Run it

Double click the jar to open it. If double clicking does nothing on your system, open a terminal in the same folder and run java -jar dmz-ragnarok-launcher-0.9.0.jar.

3

Let it install and play

The launcher pulls down the pack, sets up Minecraft and Forge, and hands off into the game. After the first run it only checks for updates, so later launches are fast.

Heads up

Still in development

The launcher is in an active beta. Microsoft sign in is in review with Microsoft and is not usable yet, so the sign in step is still being finished. Everything else described on this page, the install, the updates, the built in Minecraft and Forge setup, the RAM and Java settings, and the launch into the server, is already working. The beta build below is available now if you want to try it early or help us test.

Beta build 0.9.0

Download the launcher

Pick the build for your system. The Windows and Linux builds include Java, so there is nothing else to install. This is a beta: it installs and updates the pack, but Microsoft sign in is still in review, so use the download button inside the launcher to get the pack and hop in the Discord if you hit a snag.

On Windows, put the installer wherever you want the launcher to live and run it. It creates a DMZ Ragnarok Launcher folder next to itself, then open that folder and run DMZ Ragnarok Launcher.exe. Windows will most likely warn you that it does not recognise the app, because the installer is not code signed yet. Choose More info and then Run anyway. On Linux, mark the AppImage executable and run it. The Java file works anywhere but needs Java 17 or newer already installed.
